There’s a new trend in London in renovating houses, but keeping the façade the same. Walk down many streets with Victorian housing and you’ll see the same outer shell. Take a trip further back though and you’ll encounter houses like this one in Hackney.
Walk through the front door and you’ll come across a hallway that leads you down in a home with more than one surprise as you walk in to the open plan kitchen area. With curves drawing the eye in every direction, its a home where contemporary design brings about intrigue as to what every room has to offer.
And every room is clearly defined. The lounges and bedroom are punctuated with rugs and throws to add a sense of warmth and welcoming (just look at the old fireplace place in the study). The work room keeps the house foundations bare and doesn’t bother with decorating the walls to indicate a space where function takes place over fashion.
Overall, you’re left with a home that is inviting as well as inventive in how it has redefined the space it inhibits.
